Our Story

Thrive began in 2012 sparked by three expat moms in Bangladesh who wanted to help hungry children they saw in the urban streets.

What began as a promise of 250 bananas once a week has grown to a movement that serves thousands of  children nutritious school meals every day.

How Impact Is Made

Thrive’s Theory of Change

Goal: Daily School Meals

Children in remote and underserved communities receive dependable, locally prepared school meals every school day.

As an immediate effect, hunger is removed as a barrier to learning. Long-term, daily school meals help break the cycle of poverty and provide a strong foundation for the future.

It’s More Than a Meal

Daily school meals do more than alleviate hunger. They open doors to education, equality, and opportunity. They give a child the chance for a better future.

Fills nutritional gaps for growth and learning

Ensures consistent school attendance

Increases school enrollment

Keeps children, especially girls, in school

Curtails early marriages

Leads to better jobs

Increases income for mothers

Builds stronger communities
